Security System

Customer Reviews
I wanted a inexpensive and quick to install system to alert me if my young daughter somehow managed to get out of the home although I was napping. We have physical security (with locks) but I just wanted an added layer of protection.
This system met my requirements perfectly. I skipped the screws and double sided tape as this technique will be replaced by a thing extra sophisticated in a year. I implemented hot-melt glue to attach the door sensors. I find hot-melt glue less complicated to eliminate than double sided tape.
Thanks to the beep generated by the alarm box, I can quickly test the sensors by opening a door when the system is not armed. So far, it has been 100% reputable in my two story, 3200 square foot home.
I have observed complaints about unreliable operation from other prospects. As with any wireless technique, your expertise could possibly vary. Everyone who lives close to a radio or Television transmitter or under power lines could possibly acquire the wireless connections unreliable.
The key improvement I will make is to switch over to the embedded magnet sensors that my builder put into the doors and windows. The SC-10W program would perform just fine with that. The major factor lacking which will trigger me to switch is the lack of a dialer that can send an alarm by wireless phone or supervised link.
Most poor guys will need to be wise enough to cut your phone line.
A different wish list item is to use a rechargeable battery in the alarm unit. According to the manual, the alarm unit's battery wants to be replaced even even though the unit is powered externally.
Lastly, it would be terrific if Skylink's security and automation systems were integrated. Imagine you could define operating modes for your program.
In "evening at dwelling mode", motion detectors would control lighting and door sensors are disarmed.
In "sleeping mode", motion detectors would be disabled (not armed, someone may well require water or to use the bathroom) and door sensors would be armed.
In "weekend at property mode", both motion detectors and door sensors would be disarmed.
In "out shopping or traveling mode", each motion detectors and door sensors would be armed and the dialer would be enabled.
In "party mode", outdoor lights would be turned on at sunset and private areas of the house would be alarmed.
We bought this system to pair the door sensors, remotes and the siren with an SC-100 process. The directions to pair these pieces are not supplied in the manual that came out of the box, but it is painless to download them from Skylink website for every single individual piece. (I very first created the siren unpaired from the other four pieces it came with.) General the setup was pretty smooth.
The siren beeps when I disarm the major unit, but it does not beep when I arm it. This is about the only complaint I have with it. The siren is very loud when the alarm is tripped. You will wish you did not preserve the remotes subsequent to the siren if you trigger it by mistake. :)
